Mitzvah Technique:

The Mitzvah Technique is postural re-alignment and re-education of movement.  It is a gentle, healing art form which guides the body, through a simple rippling upward of the spine, back to health and wholeness.  Using the force of gravity the Mitzvah Technique re-aligns the body back into its’ proper alignment with gravity.  This ground breaking technique affects the skeletal system as well as the neuro-muscular system changing the body’s posture as well as improving overall health and wellness.  The Mitzvah Technique is gentle and relaxing yet the changes are intense and the health benefits are to numerous to mention.

Dorian Leigh began dancing at the age of 4 and has been a dancer and ever since.  Dancing classical ballet and choreographing professionally for over 20 years, Dorian sustained injuries due to the demands on her body. Finding no relief from conventional methods of treatment, she began to study and research her own injuries to heal them.  As she learned about her body’s incorrect alignment, Dorian began to connect her injuries to her spine and found herself drawn to the Mitzvah Technique.  Disciplined practice of the Mitzvah Technique helped to rehabilitate, correct and re-align her spine.  Her body healed itself and re-established its balance with gravity.  Dorian Leigh has been practicing the Mitzvah Technique since 1987 and is a Certified Teacher and Practitioner since 2003. Dorian Leigh continues to dance and is an independent dancer/choreographer and teacher and has been teaching her own ballet classes since 2002.

Pathwork:

Please contact Gustavo at 416-561-5780 or by e-mail at gustavo.br.sp@gmail.com to join the group, or for a group in English.

What is the Pathwork?

The Pathwork provides a very practical approach to attaining greater personal well-being. The approach is set out in a substantial body of teachings called Pathwork Guide Lectures. These lectures will guide you in the discovery and dissolution of unconscious wrong beliefs that hold you from living life more fully.

“The path is, above everything else, a process of making things conscious.” (Lecture 193: Resume of the Basic Principles of the Pathwork: Its Aims and Process, p. 9)

Understanding how you create your own life will allow you to become a savvier creator.

“You constantly create, whether you know it or not. The trouble is that you do not know what creations you produce unwittingly ... You need to know what you are doing and how you create. Your disconnection from the creative seeds you plant and their results causes unnecessary pain and frustration.”
(Lecture 208: The Innate Human Capacity to Create, p. 5)

More information on the Pathwork is up on the Pathwork Canada web site at www.pathwork.ca, as well as on the international web site: www.pathwork.org. These web sites include information on the Pathwork as an approach, on the worldwide Pathwork community, and on Pathwork materials.

Meeting Facilitation

Gustavo Monteiro will facilitate the meeting. He joined the Pathwork in 1998 and has been facilitating Pathwork groups since 2002. He started giving one-on-one Pathwork Helper sessions in 2006, after completing his overall ten year program of certification as a Pathwork Helper. Gustavo has been serving as a member of the Pathwork Press steering committee since 2003 and also as a Trustee of the International Pathwork Foundation (IPF) since 2005. He has also received extensive training and certification in other spiritual healing methods such as Reiki and the energy dynamics of psychic processes. Gustavo holds a Master of Science Degree in Engineering from UCLA and a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from the Aeronautical Institute of Technology in Brazil.

Zen Echoes:   Series starting in May (dates as below)

Take a music bath once or twice a week for a few seasons, and you will find that it is to the soul what the water-bath is to the body. ~ Oliver Wendell Holmes

Zen Echoes is sound as a practice. This practice teaches you how to use your instrument, the one you were born with and carry with you every day. It is not about becoming a musician, learning an instrument or being on stage. It is about your personal song as part of the universal symphony. You will learn how to find your song, how to pick it up and sing it through your rhythms, your breath, how you speak, move, listen and sing. Zen Echoes is taught in nine one hour sessions. The sessions are grouped in three, incorporating the body, mind and spirit:

Body: Rhythm – 1 hour, Breath – 1 hour, Movement – 1 hour
Heart/Mind: Listening – 1 hour, Speaking – 1 hour, Singing – 1 hour Spirit: Overtones – 1 hour, Connection – 1 hour, Stillness – 1 hour

The series is about building a practice and follows this format as one class builds on the next class. Wear comfortable clothing for movement, bring water and journaling materials.
